Run Aaron Run!!

This weekend Aaron participated in the Wasatch Back Relay with 11 other guys from our neighborhood - it was crazy, but he had a great time. Kudos to my hubby - he is a great runner! He decided he wanted to be more fit a year or so ago, he literally set out with some old shoes and could run 5 miles, no problem. He is just a natural runner!

The Wasatch Back is a 180 mile relay from Logan to Park City, each team is made up of 12 runners, each runner has 3 legs. Aaron was runner 2. We cheered him on in Hyrum, he was doing great. The fun was just starting for them. We met up with his sister Brycie and her cute family for lunch and swimming in Logan.

Brycie and Blake's baby Addison is a couple weeks younger than Hunter. Luckily they took a good snooze in the shade.

Here's the team; the "Heavy Hoofers" after finishing. Aaron's van got to shower and rest for 3 hours at one of the guys cabin's at East Canyon during the night. By this time Aaron was pretty out of it! His first run was Friday at 10:00 am, his second was Friday night around 7:00 pm (hot) and his third was Saturday morning around 5:30 am. He ran a total of 15 miles.

Getting up to the finish line was quite an experience. We had to board shuttles at the Park City resort and ride them a ways to the sports complex. Just imagine me trying to get myself, an infant, stroller, two kids and our stuff on a packed, HOT mini bus. I am very thankful for the kindness of strangers! Luckily, Aaron rode back with us.

Aaron said he was glad he did it - it was crazy at times! I can only imagine the smell of the vans! Amber did it too, but I didn't get to catch up with her. I am proud of all the guys who trained with Aaron, many of them had never attempted anything like this. Way to go Heavy Hoofers!
