Memorial Weekend

Our Brother-in-law Devin has a family cabin by Schofield Reservoir. This is located by one of our favorite canyons full of great fishing spots: Huntington. For the past few years he and Shayna have been kind enough to invite us along over memorial weekend to join in the fun. We really look forward to it, the kids always catch lots of fish.

This time around Aaron took Alexis and Wyatt while Hunter and I took it easy at home. They left Thursday and planned to stay for a couple days. Usually the weather is pretty good, in years past the ice is just coming off the lakes (good fishin') or completely gone. Well, this year we knew it would be cold - and it sure was! As you can see from the pictures, it snowed - the whole time. This didn't stop the fishermen though. They threw rocks through the ice to get to the fish. Luckily Mom packed warm stuff and Dad grabbed the snow boots.

Wyatt was super whiny before they left - Aaron figured out why the next day. He got diarrhea, poor kid. So that cut the trip short, but they had fun anyway!

Alexis got a Barbie fishing pole when she was 2, and that thing is the luckiest pole I have ever seen. Every time, (really, every time) we go fishing, Alexis always catches a fish. Nine times out of ten it is also the biggest. She is a great fisherwoman, she bates her own hook - with worms, and casts it out all by herself. A girl after my own heart!

So this year she caught the first fish - a giant Tiger Trout; 20.5 in!

Home to show off the fish to Mom.

Here is a little clip Aaron made for me of the fun...

On Sunday we went out to Tooele to visit Aaron's Grandma. His aunt Joanna was also out from Colorado visiting her daughter Alicia and her kids. We made a trip over to the cemetery. Aaron's cute mom had flowers and windmills ready for us to put out. We decorated Aaron's grandparents graves as well as his uncle Brian that passed away in February.

This is "the other Wyatt." Alicia also named her son Wyatt, they are 4 months apart and they get along great. Sometimes it gets confusing for us, but they think it is pretty cool.
